President's Award

MVDX/CC President’s Awards

In 2011 the Club instituted a President’s Award, consisting of a plaque presented to an MVDX/CC member for outstanding service to the club.  At his or her discretion, the club president can issue one or more President’s Awards.  Since its inception, the club has issued 7 President’s Awards, as shown in the following table.

The activities or services being recognized ranged from serving as a club officer for multiple years to volunteering in a leadership role in the WØ Incoming QSL Bureau.

The “Buro” is officially managed by club member John - K2VV, and is loosely affiliated with the MVDX/CC, where many club members serve as sorters for individual suffix letters.  John was recognized with the President’s Award in 2019 and in the ARRL Midwest Division Newsletter.

The 2023 President’s Award was issued to Udo - NIØG for serving as Club President from 2017 to 2022.  Udo kept the club afloat during the difficult COVID-19 pandemic period, during which club meetings were held online and business was transacted by E-mail.  Thankfully his guidance restored the club to our former process of having our monthly meetings and guest presentations in person.
